The 9A2 Flat Six Splits the Range Into Two Different Jobs
Turbocharging is the dividing line. A 991.2 or 992 Carrera runs the turbocharged 9A2 and responds to a calibration the way any modern boosted engine does: thick midrange torque, no new hardware for the first step. Naturally aspirated cars are the opposite story. On a 4.0-liter GT car software alone buys you very little, and the honest path runs through exhaust, headers, intake and — eventually — cams, each change measured rather than assumed.
