1st Place at Global Time Attack 2017 Road Atlanta

Here at Solo Motorsports, we’re no strangers to competition. Over the years, our accomplishments and achievements that we have made in the competitive racing scene are always growing, and this past weekend at Road Atlanta was hardly an exception. Global Time Attack and Formula Drift drew as large a crowd as ever, so naturally Solo Motorsports showed up to crush the competition. Global Time Attack is a huge event that brings together some of the best time attack cars in the world to face off against one another, all on one legendary track.

In 2016, our own Tony Fuentes brought home 1st place in the GTA Limited RWD class, with a time of 1:52.22. In an amazing repeat performance, the Solo Motorsports BMW 135i, with Tony behind the wheel, placed 1st for the second time in two years. Between the custom Borg Warner single turbo under the hood, and the extra clean widebody kit, our 135i is quite the grocery getter! This is reinforced even more when you consider that Tony also smashed Solo’s time from last year, coming in at an impressive 1:31.270! Precision German engineering, combined with great work and a fantastic driver sure can go a long way. Wonderful things from Solo Motorsports, and from Tony Fuentes as well.

Road Atlanta was also host to Formula Drift over the weekend. Two whole days of intense drifting action, with Road Atlanta as the stage. Just as it was in 2004, at the very first Formula Drift. Drivers are challenged from the very beginning, with a quick entry into extremely tight turns, you really have to prove yourself, and your vehicle, before you can take a step onto that podium. All in all, it was an awesome weekend for Tony and everyone else here at Solo Motorsports.
