The 2026 BMW M2 Turbo Design Edition is a special version of the G87 M2 with a specific factory specification. The complete name matters: this is a BMW design edition, not a description of an aftermarket turbo upgrade.
What Makes the Turbo Design Edition Different?
BMW unveiled the edition at Road Atlanta in October 2025. Alpine White paint, hand-painted Motorsport graphics and a black hood panel with reversed turbo lettering reference the original BMW 2002 turbo. A carbon-fiber roof and M Performance rear spoiler are part of the package.
BMW specifies a six-speed manual transmission, a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine, 473 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Standard seats use Black Vernasca leather with M Color Highlight; carbon bucket seats and the M Driver’s Package were listed as options. BMW described production as very limited without giving a total in its launch announcement.

Factory Edition or Modified G87 M2?
When researching a car, separate its original factory specification from any later modifications. Ask for its build information and modification records rather than treating graphics or an edition nickname as proof of a particular power output. A factory special edition and an individually tuned car are different subjects.
